I am a writer and academic with over 15 years’ experience of teaching psychoanalytic studies in higher education. My research crosses the fields of medical humanities, psychoanalytic theory and history, and the sociology of mental health. I have a particular interest in the cultural history of psychosis. These research interests are reflected in my practice, which has a psychosocial orientation in which social contexts of gender, sexuality, race and class are integral to the work. I am LGBTQ+ inclusive and my training is informed by feminist, anti-racist and social justice principles (Site for Contemporary Psychoanalysis, registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy, UKCP’s Code of Ethics).
I practice in North London in N4, five minutes walks from Finsbury Park tube and bus station.
